French Students Blockade Schools in COVID Protests

Students were seen clashing with police at several schools in France on November 3 after a students’ union called for a blockade in protest against schools remaining open during the country’s COVID-19 lockdown.

The hashtags #FermezLesEcoles and #FermezLesLycees (#CloseTheSchools and #CloseTheHighSchools) spread on social media as videos showed students gathering at school gates, some lighting fires.
