Shi’s role involved developing and selling original unscripted series, with a focus on global formats for cable and attracting talent. Prior to Fremantle, she was SVP Development at Invent Media and before that spent three years in the NBCUniversal group at Oxygen Media, where she shepherded such series as Pretty.Strong., Douglas Family Gold, Strut and Battle of the Ex-Besties.
Deadline understands Shi’s contract was running down and she is the only Fremantle U.S. exec to depart at this time. Fremantle has confirmed her departure.
Run by North America-based CEO Jennifer Mullin, Fremantle makes entertainment shows such as NBC’s America’s Got Talent, Password, Family Feud and The Price is Right. It has a number of bases around the world and is headquartered in London. Earlier this year, Fremantle Global Entertainment hired former Dancing with the Stars EP Andrew Llinares as Director, replacing the retiring Rob Clark.
