Freeform's Full '31 Nights of Halloween' Lineup Is Here & It'll Bring Joy to Your Dark Heart

At long last, we’ve reached the most magical time of year: fall. Bonus? To make the arrival of this most beloved season feel official, Freeform just announced their 31 Nights of Halloween lineup for October 2019 — and it’s sure to bring joy to those who revel in the month of all things spooky and macabre.

Freeform (once known as the Family Channel, then Fox Family, then ABC Family) launched this special block of seasonal programming 20 years ago. Originally, it only spanned the 13 days prior to Halloween, but, fortunately for all of us, Freeform decided to devote the entire month to this TV tradition. Not surprisingly, there’s a little something for everyone in this year’s lineup, whether you’re a fan of family-friendly films or something slightly more sinister.

Of course, the most anticipated part of the lineup each year is the cult classic Hocus Pocus, starring Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker as the iconic Sanderson sisters. Other standouts include Matilda, the original Ghostbusters movies, The Nightmare Before Christmas (Jack Skellington is always a good idea), and new favorite Hotel Transylvania. For grown-up eyes only, the scarier fare includes Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and the first three installments of the Scream franchise.
