Free screening of ‘The Gallows’ with director questions at this Fresno theater

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fans of the horror movie “The Gallows” can catch a free screening of the film and take part in a Q&A with the directors at a movie theatre in Fresno.

The Gallows was released in 2015, and according to production company Tremendum Pictures, it was the lowest-budgeted movie in history to go straight to a worldwide theatrical release through New Line Cinema and Warner Bros.

‘Most nerve-racking moment ever’: Fresno filmmaker makes proposal a big screen event

The directors of the movie, Chris Lofing and Travis Cluff, became creative collaborators and created Tremendum Pictures in 2011.

Tremendum’s website says the movie “The Gallows” takes place 20 years after an accident that caused the death of the lead actor during a high school play. It says students at the same small-town school resurrect the failed stage production in a misguided attempt to honor the anniversary of the tragedy – but ultimately find out that some things are better left alone.

The film grossed $43 million worldwide, becoming one of the most profitable movies of all time.

The free screening will be on May 3 at 7 p.m. in Auditorium 11 at Maya Cinemas Fresno located at 3090 East Campus Pointe Dr., Fresno. To RSVP for the screening, click here.
