Clearwater’s recently revamped Coachman Park has added three free movie nights to its entertainment calendar, starting with the Disney animated hit “Encanto.”

The Scenes on the Green movie series invites the public to bring blankets and low-lying lawn chairs to watch a family-friendly movie under the stars.

There also will be live music starting at 6 p.m., with the movies starting at 7.

The series lineup so far is:

  • Sept. 29: “Encanto,” the animated tale of the magical Madrigal family, is backed by Lin-Manuel Miranda’s massively popular soundtrack. Released in November 2021, the film won three Grammys for catchy singable songs such as “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and “The Family Madrigal.”

  • Oct. 27: “Hocus Pocus 2,” the sequel to Disney’s enduring 1993 Halloween classic starring Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker as the fearsome-yet-kooky Sanderson sisters. It took 30 years for the Halloween staple to get a sequel, and it was a streaming hit when it premiered on Disney+ in 2021.

  • Nov. 24: To be announced.

The park, which reopened in July after an $84 million transformation, is on the downtown waterfront at 301 Drew St., Clearwater.
