It goes without saying that we could all use any and every distraction we can get right now. With prolonged periods of self-isolation we’ve all got a lot of time on our hands — so what better way to make it go by a little faster than with the sounds of some of our favorite artists? Music is a proven mood-booster.

Blake Shelton, John Legend, Keith Urban, and other musicians have released virtual concerts amid the coronavirus pandemic so fans at least have a soundtrack for this unprecedented time of global quarantine. With venues and bars shut down all over in response to new social distancing protocols, your living room is now the hottest spot in town.

While Taylor Swift announced in April she was postponing her 2020 concert dates she announced Friday (May 8) she’d be bringing her Lover Fest tour to fans in a different way — ABC will air a one-hour special Taylor Swift City of Lover Concert on May 17 at 10 p.m. ET following the season finale of American Idol.

One Direction

One Direction is secretly planning to reunite for a 10-year anniversary special according to Page Six which has Twitter ablaze with the hashtag #1DOnlineConcertStayAtHome.

This Is Us star Mandy Moore has said that her role on This Is Us lit a fire in her to start singing again — Moore took to Instagram singing with the band Dawes for a song sure to warm your heart.

Shelton and girlfriend Stefani had planned to perform together at the ACM Awards but with current stay-at-home orders, the annual broadcast has been pushed to September — however, the couple still wanted to give us fans a performance.

Okay, so it’s technically not a concert. But we couldn’t resist including this montage of dancers from the Alvin Ailey dance company! “We are off tour but we will not stop dancing! We put together a cast of ‘Buked’ from Alvin Ailey’s ‘Revelations,’ for your #DigitalDancing enjoyment,” the theater wrote on Instagram. Dancing during the quarantine? Yes, please.

A new concert series spurred by the coronavirus, NPR’s Live From Here radio show has created “Live From Home” for artists to upload virtual concerts. Chris Thile’s got the ball rolling by revisiting “Laysong.”
