Free live music along Adams Avenue in San Diego this weekend

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — If you’re a fan of live music, you will have more than 60 performances to choose from on Saturday that are all happening along one street.

From noon to midnight, restaurants, bars and coffee shops along a two-mile stretch of Adams Avenue running between University Heights and Kensington will host free live musical performances. More than 60 shows are scheduled on 20 stages, according to the Adams Avenue Business Association.

Gear up for some bull riding, roping, barrel racing and more at Lakeside Rodeo

The performances are part of a free musical walking tour called “Adams Avenue Unplugged” dedicated to showcasing the street’s unique dining establishments and galleries.

You can find a full list of businesses hosting the shows and a timed schedule of performances on the association’s website.

The event begins with a Friday night screening of the documentary “Recordially Yours, Lou Curtiss,” which tells the story of the founder of the San Diego Folk Festival. The film showing begins at 7:45 p.m. Friday with doors set to open at 6:30 p.m.

Guests can park on residential streets and are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes to travel in between venues.

The shows are free with the exception of the headliner concert by the California Guitar Trio, which will take place at the historic Normal Heights United Church at 4650 Mansfield St. The headliner concert starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $25.
