Free event in Palm Desert Dec. 30 to benefit Family YMCA

Celebrate the end of the year at a free community event Dec. 30 at the corner of San Pablo and Magnesia Falls in Palm Desert.

All ages are welcome to the second annual Celebrate Coachella Valley, which will feature live music, food trucks, bars, giveaways, games, activities and more.

All profits from the event will benefit the Family YMCA of the Desert.

Guests will be treated to live performances by Lauren Alaina, Austin Jay, the Jordan Sherman Band and Turn the Page, a Bob Seger tribute. There will be face painting, shuffle putt, street hockey, basketball shooting competitions as well as the opportunity to win year-long sports scholarships to the YMCA and other prizes.

Food trucks will be provided by Nick's Pizza, LA Hot Dog & Munchies, The Big Easy Sandwich, Haus of Poké, The Sweet Stop, Outside the Masa, Juice It Up! and La Quinta Brewing Company.

Event sponsors include the City of Palm Desert, the City of Cathedral City, LocaliQ, El Paseo Jewelers, Pocial, Stuft Pizza Bar & Grill, News Channel 3, AlphaMedia, Acuity Optical and Walter Clark Legal Group.
