A terrible accident on the set of Eddie Murphy's latest movie The Pickup occurred after an action scene went awry, leaving several members of the film crew injured.

The incident happened on Saturday, April 20, just outside of Atlanta, Georgia, and involved a vehicle collision. During the mishap, a truck locked up and hit a car, according to The Associated Press.

“It was a completely freak accident,” a spokesperson for Amazon MGM Studios said in a statement. “It wasn’t even a complicated or dangerous stunt.”

It was reported that no cast members—which include Murphy, Keke Palmer, Eva Longoria, Marshawn LynchPete Davidson and more—were present on set at the time of the crash.

“Unfortunately, the sequence did not go as planned and several members of the crew were injured as a result. We are still in the process of gathering facts on what happened and why, but first and foremost our thoughts are with those who are recovering,” the person added.

The notice continued: “The well-being of the entire crew and cast is our first priority, and we will continue to insist on the highest industry standards of safety while filming. All safety precautions were reviewed prior to and monitored during the shoot.”

The injuries ranged from bumps and bruises to broken bones, the person close to the production said. Two crew members were immediately transported to the hospital, with one remaining hospitalized on Tuesday, April 23.

Though specific details on the identity of those injured have not been released, all are expected to make a full recovery, the outlet notes.

Amazon Prime Video's The Pickup does not yet have a release date.
