When Frankie Muniz married his wife, Paige Muniz, they expected sparks, not all-out flames.

After eloping in October 2019, the pair hosted an official wedding in February 2020, exactly four years to the day when they first met. The Malcolm in the Middle alum told PEOPLE that the combination of dry florals Paige picked for their wedding day decor and the candles lining the walkway caused a fire.

Luckily, the "10-foot flames" were quickly put out, and the wedding ceremony continued, with Frankie describing it as "the best day of my life!”

Paige’s love of golf is one of the reasons why she and Frankie originally met in February 2016. The pair first crossed paths at the 28th annual Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational held in Indio, California.

At the time, Paige worked for a golf network as a presenter, attending events and interviewing players. She was covering the charity game when she met Frankie, who was participating alongside other actors like Criminal Minds star Joe Mantegna.

Although Frankie nor Paige have confirmed when they started dating, she posted the first photo of him in August of that same year on her Instagram. In the snap, the Agent Cody Banks actor was in the middle of a bowling game. "my main squeeze 🍋👏🏼💕," she captioned it.

Meanwhile, he gave a first glimpse of their relationship in November with a selfie of them at the Grand Canyon.

According to Paige, Frankie is the “master of proposals,” a title he earned after he got down on one knee during the Lantern Fest in Casa Grande, Arizona.

He popped the question on Nov. 19, 2018, and she shared photos of the special moment on Instagram afterward, in which floating lanterns surrounded them as they celebrated the milestone.

“I love every piece of you, and I appreciate you more and more every single day. I truly cannot wait to be your wife," the former model said.

Shortly after, Frankie expressed how thankful he was for his new fiancée on Thanksgiving Day and revealed their holiday plans.

"She makes my life instantly better!" he wrote about Paige. "We're eating our Thanksgiving dinner at Boston Market, but I wouldn't want it any other way, as long as i have her by my side!"

A few months before their wedding day, Frankie and Paige exchanged vows in a small, private ceremony on Oct. 3, 2019. The couple climbed Camelback Mountain in Arizona as the sun was rising.

“We hiked up at sunset and just got married!” Frankie told PEOPLE in 2020. “It was just five of us there.”

While still planning on celebrating with more family and friends at a larger wedding in the future, the pair decided to do a last-minute elopement.

“[We] said screw it, I want to marry you tomorrow ... My greatest accomplishment was convincing her to spend her life with me and I love her more now than I ever have," he wrote on Instagram four years after becoming husband and wife, alongside a photo of them with their marriage certificate.

Frankie and Paige's wedding day, Feb. 21, 2020, isn’t just a random date; it’s the same day they met four years prior.

Although they originally planned on hosting their wedding at their new house, the couple decided on a different location only 10 days before.

According to the Dancing With the Stars alum, they waited a year and a half for their home to be built and wanted to avoid having a major event in it immediately. While it didn’t leave much time to plan their nuptials, the pair were still able to pull everything together.

“It turned out better than we could have imagined,” Frankie told PEOPLE.

The wedding was still a “magical” experience and featured a unique walk down the aisle with the bride and groom walking into the ceremony holding hands after getting ready together.

Their official ceremony was only a bit larger than their elopement, with 40 guests, but it was still intimate, with a casual reception rather than a big party.

In his own message sharing the happy news on social media, Frankie opened up about fatherhood.

“That was the moment that my life changed forever,” he wrote about his son’s birth. “I never would have expected the impact seeing my son would have on me. I didn’t know it was possible to love anything as much as I love him.”

In 2018, Frankie and Paige purchased an olive oil shop in Scottsdale, Arizona, after the previous owner of nine years chose to sell it. The pair had been customers at Outrageous Olive Oils & Vinegars, which carries premium olive oils and balsamic vinegars, and were fans of the product.

“We were looking for something to do together,” Frankie told The Republic in January 2019 regarding why they chose to take this step. “It’s a lot of work, but it’s really rewarding when people come in and rave about the product.”

The duo have taken a hands-on approach to running the business, starting their days as early as 6 a.m. to pick up products for the store, bottling and labeling oils and stocking the shelves.

While Frankie focuses on the financial aspects like payroll, Paige oversees the inventory and runs the shop’s social media and website.

“I think in the end, we cancel out each other’s weaknesses,” Paige added. “Where Frankie might not be on top of something, I’m on top of it. Or if I’m not on top of something, Frankie always has my back.”

Pog and Mauz is named after her nickname and her son. According to its website, Paige owned “an artisan specialty foods shop in the heart of old town Scottsdale" before Mauz was born.

While she focused most of her time on “being a mother and navigating the world of parenthood,” she started Pog and Mauz to “bring forth products that are rare to find” and help provide great gift ideas for customers. The new mom also saw it as an opportunity to bond with her child whether it was opening a box together, packaging a shipment or working on inventory.

As of right now, the online store is not available to browse, but a message teases that "great things are coming."

Paige always has her husband’s back through thick and thin, from supporting him through his health issues to helping when his cat accidentally turned on a faucet of his brownstone in 2018 and flooded his home.

“Thank God I have paigey_price to help me get through this. I’d be lost without her,” Frankie wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter) while dealing with the damage. “She’s so strong and exactly what I need.”
