The word "Cincinnati" sure has a nice ring to it.

Cincinnati has inspired countless musicians across all genres since changing its name from Losantiville in 1790. With the rich history of King Records and Herzog Studios to the numerous music venues recently drawing big names like Taylor Swift, Snoop Dogg, Charlie Puth and Post Malone, it's no surprise that Cincinnati has appeared as a lyric in over 200 songs.

If you've ever stayed at a Reds game through the seventh inning stretch, then you're probably familiar with the 1967 cover of "Cincinnati, Ohio" by Connie Smith. Maybe you're a fan of country crooner Carrie Underwood's 2005 song "Jesus Takes the Wheel," where she sings about a snowy drive back home to Cincinnati for the holidays.

Or perhaps you're more into the hip-hop head-bumping Cincinnati rapper Hi-Tek's 2006 track, "How We Do It," featuring Talib Kweli, Slim Thug and Snoop Dogg.

Either way, we've rounded up some of the most popular Cincinnati songs below for your listening pleasure, in no particular order. (Expletives have been deleted for your safety. Mature content remains. Proceed at your own risk.)

You can listen along as you read with our Cincy Sounds Spotify playlist below.
