Foxy Brown continues to show support for Nicki Minaj upon the release of her fifth studio album Pink Friday 2 — which has become the icon’s third No. 1 album.

Additionally, the LP has broken Foxy’s own Billboard 200 record as Minaj now has more No. 1 albums than any other woman rapper. The “Get Me Home” rapstress previously held the record for her two albums — The Firm: The Album (1997) and Chyna Doll (1999).

On Sunday (Dec. 17), the fellow New Yorker made an Instagram Story where she responded to Minaj’s good news and commentary around it.

“Umm sir! Only Nic could break tha king[‘s] record,” she wrote while alluding to tying with Minaj next year, “3rd #1 record dropping 2024.” In another post, Ingavelli wrote, “Hella proud. 26 year record is brazy tho. Y’all mean to tell me no bi**h broke that sh*t in my absence! Took twin to set tha bar again!”

The Fox has been supportive of Minaj over the years, as the “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” artist has also voiced her admiration for the Brooklynite. In an interview with JT of City Girls for i-D last year, Minaj revealed her fandom of the Ill Na Na rapper, noting their shared Trinidadian roots.

“I still probably at times sound similar to her,” she told the “No Bars” rapper. “I would listen to this woman non-stop. Finding out she was from Trinidad was so freaking amazing to me, because I never imagined that a rapper could be from my country.”

As for if the two record-breaking rappers have any new collabs in the works — there’s been no word of it. However, Minaj has been basking in Pink Friday 2’s success.

Reportedly, the LP sold 228,000 equivalent album units upon its opening window, marking it the highest debut for a Hip Hop/R&B album by a woman in 2023. With an additional 25,000 vinyl copies sold, PF2 also holds the record for most vinyl albums sold by a woman rapper since 1991, according to data reported by HipHopDX via Luminate.

“Thank you to everyone who helped on this album in any way. And of course, Thank you for listening,” Minaj wrote to her supporters on Instagram paired with her record breaking news.
