Fox’s Zany Reboot of ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’
On Thursday, Fox aired The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do The Timewarp Again. It was an updated version of film with an updated cast. The role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, originally played by Tim Curry, was played by Laverne Cox. Janet, originally played by Susan Sarandon, was played by former Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice. Adam Lambert took over the role of Eddie, which Meatloaf first played. And Tim Curry played the role of the Criminologist, who instructed the audience how to do the Time Warp.
The crowds that have watched the cult classic in late night showings over the last 40 years also got some attention. Several times, a theater audience was shown interacting with the show, like throwing toilet paper at the screen as Brad yelled, “Great Scott!”
The show was able to bring a new audience to the weird world of Rocky Horror.
