Fox News Sticks By Sean Hannity Though Unaware Of Michael Cohen Relationship

Another day, another gobsmacking bit of breaking news about Sean Hannity.

One day after Monday’s stunning revelation that Fox News Channel’s primetime star Sean Hannity is the mystery third client of Donald Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, Fox News issued a statement saying he still has their “full support.”

Here’s another headline: Fox News says Sean Hannity did not disclose to them that he had a lawyerly relationship with Cohen.

The stunning revelation that Hannity is a client of Cohen’s came in court on Monday as Cohen and Trump try to wrangle control of information gleaned from recent FBI raids on Cohen’s home, office and hotel room.

Cohen’s attorney revealed the identity of mystery client No. 3 at the judge’s insistence. After which reporters in the room took about 15 seconds to process, then jumped up and ran from the room to retrieve mobile devices and get out the headline, eyewitnesses report.

Among those taken by surprise was Fox News, which said today in its statement that it was not aware of its star’s “informal” relationship with Cohen. Even so, Fox News said, after speaking to Hannity, he continues to have the news division’s “full support.”

Though Cohen lists Hannity as a client, Hannity on Monday insisted theirs was an informal relationship, in that he never got an invoice. Hannity has used his primetime show to cheer-lead for Trump and Cohen. That includes blasting the FBI raids on Cohen at which it appears information taken was relevant to Hannity, without his mentioning his Cohen relationship to his viewers or his bosses, according to Fox News’s statement about their biggest FNC player these days.

Fox News’s statement:

While Fox News was unaware of Sean Hannity’s informal relationship with Michael Cohen and was surprised by the announcement in court yesterday, we have reviewed the matter and spoken to Sean and he continues to have our full support.
