Fox News contributor Tomi Lahren calls CNN commentator 'vile' and 'disgusting' in defense of Melania Trump

While defending Melania Trump’s anti-bullying “Be Best” campaign, Fox News contributor Tomi Lahren had some harsh words for CNN commentator Ana Navarro, calling her “vile” and “disgusting.”

It started on Monday. As President Trump was bashing critics left and right on Twitter, the first lady was warning about the dangers of social media. She said in a speech, “But [social media] can also be distractive and harmful when used incorrectly.”

In response to the tone-deaf irony of Melania’s message versus the president’s actions, CNN commentator Ana Navarro tweeted, in part, “Only plausible explanation here is, Melania suffered oxygen deprivation to the brain.”

On Wednesday morning on Fox and Friends, Lahren was quick to respond to Navarro’s tweet, saying, “How could someone be so disgusting and so vile to tweet this about our first lady, who is advocating for anti-bullying?”

She went on to say that she has never seen a first lady attacked like this and then brought Michelle Obama into the mix. “Can you imagine if we would sit here on Fox News and attack Michelle Obama for something that she was trying to do to better the country?”

Well, Tomi, I’m sorry to say that did in fact happen. Michelle Obama was a champion of nutrition for kids while her husband was in office. And in 2014 on a Fox News segment about that subject, guest Keith Ablow quipped that the former first lady “needs to drop a few.”

Further back, in 2010, conservative personality Glenn Beck ranted and raved to Bill O’Reilly on his now-defunct show The O’Reilly Factor about an “inappropriate” dress Michelle Obama wore at the site of an oil spill. He called it an “outrage.”
