Fox News contributor Kevin Jackson insinuated Tuesday that the FBI may have tried to assassinate President Donald Trump on “Outnumbered.” The theory was raised during a discussion of anti-Trump text messages from FBI agent Peter Strzok, who later went on to join (and be removed from) Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation.

“Well, I think they’re going to say, is it — what was his intent, right?” Jackson said of Strzok, “Because that’s exactly what FBI Director, former FBI director Comey said when he was letting Hillary Clinton off the hook. And his intent, regardless of whether it was an assassination attempt or whatever, it was definitely something.”

Jackson’s statements shocked the panel, with an audible gasp emanating from one of the show’s regular hosts, Harris Faulkner.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” she said trying to offer him a lifeline. “I know how things get clipped on social media, I just want to make sure that we press on the fact that no one has floated any sort of an idea that it was.”

But Jackson doubled down.

“Oh, it’s been floated,” he said cutting off Faulkner. “When I talk about this, I’m talking about social media stuff and, you know, that’s out there, I’m not talking about media sources.”

“Nothing credible,” Sandra Smith jumped in with desperation.

“Well, I mean yeah,” Jackson reluctantly conceded.

Only earlier this week, network firebrand Judge Jeanine Pirro warned that the web of deep state corruption among the intelligence services had brought Americans to the edge of “revolt.” Fox News’ primetime opinion hosts have regularly called for Trump to fire Mueller, though the president has so far said he has no plans to do so.

A spokesperson for Fox News confirmed that the mater had been addressed with Jackson
