On Fox News, Candace Owens calls Kanye West 'one of the bravest men in America right now'

After a weekend of controversial speeches — supporting President Trump after Saturday Night Live — and tweets calling for the abolishment (and later, the amending) of the 13th Amendment, the one that ended slavery, Kanye West still has at least one die-hard supporter.

On Monday morning on Fox and Friends, conservative commentator Candace Owens praised West in rapturous terms for sticking up for Trump. “There is no doubt that he is one of the bravest men in America right now,” Owens said. “The left has declared war on our American values and Kanye is fighting the cultural front.”

In his speech on SNL, where he served as musical guest, West, wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat, said, “There’s so many times I talked to a white person about this and they say, ‘How could you like Trump, he’s racist?’ Well, if I was concerned about racism, I would have moved out of America.”

Earlier this year, West tweeted that he’s a fan of Owens and this morning on Fox News, she returned the favor.

“I had tears in my eyes,” Owens said of West’s pro-Trump speech. “I cannot tell you how happy I have been for the last 24 hours.”

In his speech, West said SNL bullied him over wearing his red “Make America Great Again” hat. But Owens thinks that the fact that he wore it in spite of this makes him some kind of hero.

“So what Kanye is doing is unbelievably brave,” said Owens. “To stand up to the mob, to put on a MAGA hat and say I support this president.”
