‘Fox and Friends’ host mistakenly says U.S. defeated ‘communist Japan’

This morning on "Fox and Friends," host Ainsley Earhardt made a historical gaffe while defending America. It started with the shows’ hosts criticizing New York governor Andrew Cuomo for saying during a speech, "We're not going to make America great again, it was never that great." Earhardt then launched into a spirited defense of America, starting with its military victories. She said, "We defeated communist Japan, radical Islamists..." Of course, any middle school student of history could let you know that Japan was an imperialist - not communist - nation led by Emperor Hirohito during World War II. Host Steve Doocy tried to subtly correct Earhardt although some people thought it only made the situation worse. He said the U.S. defeated "communism and Japan and so many other things as well."
