Fox Developing Soap From ‘No Good Deed’ Writer & Chernin Entertainment

Fox has put in development Searching for Me, a family soap from writer Aimee Lagos (No Good Deed), Chernin Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV.

Written and executive produced by Lagos, Searching for Me is described as a character-driven soap about a family whose lives are thrown into a tailspin after a deadly accident threatens to expose the family’s deepest and darkest secrets. Set against the backdrop of an unraveling murder mystery, this close-knit family, bound by identity, becomes tested by the deeply rooted lies that, if exposed, could be their ultimate undoing.

This is Lagos’ first network sale. She penned the feature No Good Deed for Screen Gems, starring Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson, and Make Some Noise, which is in development at Universal. She is repped by WME, Fourth Wall Management and Lichter Grossman.

This is one of several family soaps Fox is developing for next season, including Victory Lane from writer Sheldon Turner, which has a script commitment plus penalty, and a Hawaii-set family soap from former Nashville executive producers Meredith Lavender & Marcie Ulin, which has a put pilot commitment.
