Fox Casting Exec Seth Yanklewitz Departs

Fox Broadcasting Co.’s VP casting Seth Yanklewitz has left the network after a five-year stint. I hear the parting of the ways was amicable as Yanklewitz’s contract was up. I hear he was offered a new one and a promotion but opted to pursue other opportunities.

Yanklewitz was an independent casting director when he joined Fox in 2011 as part of a reorganization that saw Tess Sanchez rising to SVP and long-time head of casting Marcia Shulman exiting. Yanklewitz segued to the Fox job after casting, along with Michael Nicolo, Anya Colloff and Juel Bestrop, the pilot for the breakout Fox comedy series New Girl, which earned him an Emmy nomination.

It is unclear what Yanklewitz will do next but he is said to be considering both independent casting director and in-house opportunities.

Earlier this fall, Fox Television Group chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman centralized the casting operations of the company, with Sharon Klein overseeing casting for 20th Century Fox TV and Fox Broadcasting.
