SEPTEMBER 2010: FAMILY MATTERS
Double date time! Johnson keeps his arms wrapped around Simpson at the launch of her new denim line, where the two are joined by her sister Ashlee and Ashlee's then-husband, Pete Wentz (not pictured).
NOVEMBER 2010: SHE SAYS YES!
Why wait... After just six months with Simpson, Johnson pops the question with a ruby and diamond Neil Lane sparker. "Eric wanted the most romantic, beautiful, special ring for Jessica," the jeweler tells PEOPLE of the custom creation.
MAY 2011: ENJOYING THE RIDE
They're two of a kind! After another romantic trip (this time to Paris) – and talk of a very sexy wedding dress – Simpson joins Johnson on a tandem bike ride in Venice Beach, California.
OCTOBER 2011: OH, BABY!
After weeks of pregnancy speculation, the star sets the record straight by posting a photo of herself in her Halloween costume with the Twitter caption, "It's true – I'm going to be a mummy!" As her pregnancy continues, the star gushes about her partner. "Eric is very, very supportive," she tells PEOPLE. "We can't believe we get to do this, and we get to do it together. We're going to be a rock star family!"
APRIL 2012: MEET MAXWELL
"Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson," Simpson announces on May 1, welcoming the couple's little girl at 9 lbs., 13oz. "We stare at her all the time," the proud mama tells PEOPLE. "We can't get enough!"
SEPTEMBER 2012: HOT MOM
After teaming up with Weight Watchers post-pregnancy, Simpson struts her stuff in a tiny black dress while out for lunch with Johnson. She also reveals that wedding plans are on hold. "It won't be this year," she tells Katie Couric. "We haven't had time. Maxwell has taken up all our time and I want a big wedding."
DECEMBER 2012: TWICE AS NICE
And baby makes four! Simpson announces that she and Johnson are expecting again (delaying their wedding – again). She shares the news via social media again, this time by posting of photo of Maxwell above the words "BIG SIS" written in the sand.
JANUARY 2013: BABYMOON
The second-best part about being pregnant? The pre-baby vacation, of course! Simpson and Johnson escape to Hawaii with Maxwell in tow for a family vacation before welcoming their second child.
JUNE 2013: MAMA'S BOY
On June 30, Simpson and Johnson welcome son Ace Knute. "All I want to do is snuggle this lil emotional perfect soul!" she posts on Instagram. "He is a dream!"
NOVEMBER 2013: FAMILY TIES
They're one picture-perfect family! Simpson and Johnson bring their entire brood to a red carpet event for her Jessica Simpson Collection at Dillard's in Dallas, Texas. "Becoming a mom has helped me realize I'm actually proud of myself for a lot of the things I have done in my life," she writes in a blog post for Parents.com, adding that she and Johnson feel "very complete" with their family.
JUNE 2014: READY TO WED
It's finally time to say "I do!" Simpson and Johnson hit the town for a co-ed bachelor-bachelorette party, joined by bridesmaids, groomsmen and his former football teammates. The celebrations come one month after their 4-year anniversary, and following a Simpson Instagram post that confirms the news: "I can't wait to marry you!" The couple make it official on July 5, exchanging vows before 250 guests at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, California.
