Fortnite OG map changes and what's new on the island
The Fortnite map changes brought about in the OG event are massive, as the entire Chapter 1 Season 5 map has returned for a bit of nostalgia, completely replacing the previous Chapter 4 map. This map first appeared in Fortnite just over five years ago in the summer of 2018 when Season 5 just started, and it features some classic and notorious locations from Fortnite history. From Tilted Towers, to Paradise Palms, here are the major Fortnite map changes in the OG event.

As you can see from the full Fortnite map above, the island is back to its Chapter 1 Season 5 layout in all its nostalgic glory. Most of the map is hilly grass terrain, but the west side has more densely packed trees, while the southeast corner is a sandy desert area. There are 20 new (or old) named locations on the island for this event, though expect things to change each week of Fortnite OG. We've listed them all below, as well as highlighted a few favorites:
Dusty Divot
Fatal Fields
Flush Factory
Greasy Grove
Haunted Hills
Junk Junction
Lazy Links
Lonely Lodge
Loot Lake
Lucky Landing
Paradise Palms
Pleasant Park
Retail Row
Risky Reels
Salty Springs
Shifty Shafts
Snobby Shores
Tilted Towers
Tomato Temple
Wailing Woods
Tilted Towers
Tilted Towers has come, gone, and changed a fair bit over the seasons, but now it's back in its original form, ready for players to hot drop in and wreck every building in big gunfights.
Loot Lake
To the north of Titled Towers, Loot Lake makes a return. Water interactions were very different back in Chapter 1 Season 5 as you couldn't swim, and it wouldn't soften fall damage. Instead, you walk slowly through the water and can't sprint, so getting across the lake is definitely a risky move.
Paradise Palms
Paradise Palms is a fairly large town area surrounded by sandy desert and massive rock formations. It's a massive area with lots of smaller settlements and structures to plunder, and it was the first area to be added to the Fortnite island that represented a radically different biome to grassy hills and lots of trees. It even has a racetrack!
Risky Reels
This open-air cinema location was in and out of Fortnite throughout Chapters 1 – 3, but now it's back. Players may remember promotional footage for both Wreck-It Ralph 2 and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was shown on Risky Reels' screen, so it's an important location in Fortnite history.
Lazy Links
The posh Lazy Links country club is back on the Fortnite island with its tennis courts, swimming pool, and golf course. The golf course was even playable at one point, being a key part of certain Fortnite challenges, so Epic could bring similar challenges back too.
Pleasant Park
Pleasant Park was one of the first locations on the Fortnite map, appearing in Chapter 1 Season 1, but hasn't been seen Chapter 3. The massive area is a great spot for looting and fighting with the central park area serving as a good arena to fight in after ransacking the surrounding houses for weaponry.
