Just before the Formula One (F1) U.S. Grand Prix, In The Know‘s Poppy Shen played “This or That” with Oracle Red Bull Racing drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio “Checo” Pérez.
Verstappen and Pérez are a couple of the stars of the F1 racing team owned by Red Bull GmbH. Pérez is a decorated F1 driver, winning the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix and the 2021 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Meanwhile, Verstappen was just crowned winner of the F1 U.S. Grand Prix on Oct. 23! It can’t come as too big of a surprise; he’s been on a bit of a streak with a record-equaling 13 wins this season. The Dutch driver recently secured wins in the F1 2022 World Championship and nabbed the 2022 F1 Constructor’s Championship with his U.S. Grand Prix win.
Before the big race, Verstappen and Pérez blew off some steam with In The Know with a quick game of “This or That.”
Who would you play for: NFL or NBA?
Verstappen chose the NFL, citing his height as an obstacle for the NBA.
“I would like really like to bulk up for NFL,” Verstappen said.
Meanwhile, Pérez was confident in his ability to play in the NBA no matter the height requirements.
Favorite fast food: Shake Shack or In-N-Out?
“I like it more. I just do,” Verstappen said of In-N-Out. “Because it tastes — I just, I mean, they’re both nice, but if I had to choose one of the two, In-N-Out.”
Favorite coast: East or West?
Pérez opted for the West, while Verstappen chose the East Coast, naming Miami a favorite destination.
Private concert: Bad Bunny or Pitbull?
There was only one answer for Pérez: Bad Bunny.
New career: Wrestler or Astronaut?
Neither man was interested in launching into space, leaving wrestler as the only option.
“I don’t want to be an astronaut, to go to space. I prefer to stay on the ground. So then I have to go for wrestling,” Verstappen said.
New BFF: Kevin Hart or Mike Tyson?
“Mike Tyson. You know, like I have a friend that will look after me,” Pérez joked, and Verstappen agreed.
