Former UConn quarterback Johnny McEntee’s time in the White House is over.
McEntee was fired from his job as an assistant to president Donald Trump on Monday. According to multiple reports, he’s under a financial crimes investigation.
NEWS: Johnny McEntee was fired because he is currently under investigation by the Department of Homeland Security for serious financial crimes, a source familiar with his firing tells CNN.
This source says the charges are not Trump related.

While he was fired on Monday from his job in the White House, McEntee is staying in politics even as he’s reportedly being investigated for crimes. McEntee was announced as a senior adviser on Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign.

McEntee found brief internet fame in 2011 when he released a video full of trick-shot passes that other quarterbacks rushed to imitate and top. The former Husky walk-on was the team’s starting quarterback that season and threw 12 touchdowns to eight interceptions. McEntee threw just 10 passes in his senior season.
He had been a part of the Trump campaign since 2015 when he joined the team as a volunteer.
