Former Odessan Danny Williams inducted into Martial Arts Hall of Fame

Aug. 4—On Saturday, July 22, former Odessan Danny Williams was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame as Distinguished Grandmaster.

The event, held at the Hilton Marriott Westchase in Houston, culminated in a weeklong celebration of the martial arts. The black-tie affair was attended by over 300 guests, where the Class of 2023 was welcomed into the elite fraternity of martial arts schools and instructors as inductees, a press release said.

Grandmaster Danny Williams is a 7th-degree Black Belt and a United States Marine Corps veteran with nearly five decades of martial arts training. He competed for over 30 years in local, state, and national Martial Arts Tournaments. Over Grandmaster Williams' career, he has won over 800 1st places in fighting and holds more than 200 Grand Championship titles across the nation. He was also a member of the Elite "West Coast All Stars National Karate team." Grandmaster Williams also holds a semi-pro Kickboxing record of 19 wins and 0 losses with 11 wins by knockout.

Grandmaster Williams is a 7th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, a 4th degree Black Belt in Krav Maga, a 3rd Dan in Combat Hapkido and a Black Sash in Wing Chun-Kung Fu. Grandmaster Williams is the founder of the Combat Martial Arts Association and he is a member of the International Combat Hapkido Federation, the World Taekwondo Federation, the International Taekwondo Federation, and BBAC. He was a certified Black Belt Instructor in the MCMAP Program while serving in The United States Marine Corps in Camp Pendleton.

Lastly, Grandmaster Williams is training in Muay Thai Kickboxing and trains in Gracie Jiu Jitsu to obtain his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
