Former NFL star RB Marshawn Lynch arrested in Las Vegas on suspicion of DUI

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department arrested former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch Tuesday on suspicion of driving under the influence.

According to the LVMPD, officers conducted a traffic stop at Fairfield Avenue and West Utah Avenue, which is just north of the Las Vegas Strip, for suspected driver impairment. Per police, officers "determined that Lynch was impaired and conducted an arrest" after their investigation. Lynch was taken to Las Vegas City Jail and booked for driving under the influence.

Lynch was still in custody at the time of publication, according to jail records, and his bail was set at $3,381. Also according to jail records, Lynch was cited with a failure to refuse/surrender, a failure to drive in a travel lane and the vehicle he was driving was not registered.

The LVMPD announced the arrest on its verified Twitter account.

Lynch, 36, is a five-time Pro Bowler and an All-Pro selection who played 12 seasons in the NFL from 2007-2019 with the Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders. Lynch, who is a native of Oakland, California, left the Raiders before the team relocated in 2020 to Las Vegas and finished his career in Seattle.

He ran for 10,413 yards with 85 touchdowns in his career and also posted 2,214 receiving yards with nine touchdowns. He was selected as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's all-decade team for the 2010s.

The arrest comes one day after the Seahawks announced their broadcast team for the 2022 preseason, in which Lynch was set to serve as a special correspondent.

A message sent to Lynch's long-time agent Doug Hendrickson was not immediately returned.
