This Former 'Mob Wives' Star Was Just Busted for Guns and Drugs in NYPD Raid

One of the former stars of VH1's infamous reality show "Mob Wives," is still living the life of a gangster after her home was raided and cops turned up weapons and drugs. Drita D'Avanzo and her husband Lee were arrested Thursday evening after NYPD officers executed a search warrant on their home in Pleasant Plains.

According to the Staten Island Advance, the search warrant was executed around 6 PM, and turned up weapons and drugs. Both Drita and Lee were cuffed and taken into custody.

During the raid, cops reportedly recovered 2 loaded firearms, prescription pills, a large quantity of marijuana and a scale.

The NYPD was alerted by members of the community after concerns were raised about suspicious activity occurring in the location, according to SI Advance.

Both 43-year-old Drita and 50-year-old Lee face charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

The former reality star and her husband are expected to appear Friday in a St. George criminal courtroom.

Long Rap Sheet

Drita and Lee have both had brushes with the law, including multiple years served in prison. Lee was arrested in 2008 for his part in an attempted bank heist, and ended up serving serious prison time. He was released in 2013, and much of Drita's time on "Mob Wives" was spent dealing with her husband's past and getting ready for his prison release.

Drita has also found herself in trouble and was arrested in 2016 for allegedly assaulting a woman at her home during an argument. She was charged with misdemeanor assault, but prosecutors later dismissed the case.

Drita On 'Mob Wives'

It's currently unclear what happened during the latest criminal activity at Drita's home, but the "Mob Wives" star made it no secret during her time on the reality show that she was all about that gangster life.

Even her bio on VH1's still-active cast page for "Mob Wives" touts Drita's husband's role in crime:

"Drita D'Avanzo is the wife of Lee D'Avanzo, who federal prosecutors allege is the leader of a Bonanno and Colombo crime family farm team. While Drita's husband is serving time in prison for bank robbery (for the second time), she is left alone raising two young girls, Aleeya and Gizelle."

Her bio also makes it clear, "Drita is tough as nails and infamous for her many fights and knock outs growing up. Now a mother, she struggles to control her anger and often feels nostalgic for times when a problem could be solved with a fist."
