Former Miss Delaware USA revealed as 'Survivor 47' competitor

The first promo for "Survivor 47" just dropped and, lo and behold, a former Miss Delaware USA is competing.

"People look at me as an underdog. 'That’s Miss Delaware, whatever; she has nothing more to her,'" Sierra Wright says in the promo. "And I’m like, 'I’m a big dog! Woof!'"

Wright was crowned Miss Delaware USA in 2018. Before that, she was Miss Delaware Teen USA in 2015. She lived in Wilmington at the time of both pageants, the Miss Delaware USA website says.

She could not be reached for comment, likely because filming began earlier this month in Fiji, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Various media outlets have identified another "Survivor 47" competitor: Jon Lovett, "Pod Save America" host and former Barack Obama speechwriter. Among numerous other young people in the promo is a blonde woman who says she's 59.

"Every survivor story begins with an empty page," Jeff Probst's familiar voice says. "It’s up to the players to leave their mark."

The Emmy award-winning CBS series features 18 competitors divided into three tribes, all attempting to "outwit, outplay and outlast" each other while stranded on a beautiful island, according to the "Survivor" website.

"The mental and physical challenges force players to choose between personal risk and reward, while still navigating the complex social game and attempting to forge alliances to last another day," the "Survivor" website says.

Season 47 will air in the fall on CBS.
