Fox Nation host Britt McHenry reveals brain tumor; Megyn Kelly, more share support

Britt McHenry is opening up about a personal health issue.

The Fox Nation commentator and ESPN personality took to Twitter on Thursday to reveal she has a brain tumor.

"I was trying to keep this relatively private," McHenry, 33, wrote. "But as usual, things are being said without my consent. I have a brain tumor. I’m with an amazing medical team and surgery is imminent. Thank you for continued support and understanding at this time."

On Tuesday, McHenry wrote on Twitter that she was getting an MRI the next day for her neck and brain. The following day, she wrote that she received "good & bad news" and thanked friends and strangers for their support.

"Please I can’t stress enough, make your check-ups," she added. "Get an MRI early. It could have saved me."

USA TODAY has reached out to McHenry's rep for further comment.

Former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly showed McHenry support on Twitter.

"Sending you much love and strength. We are all behind you," she tweeted with a heart emoji.

Senior Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean also sent her love.

"Sending love strength and prayers. Here for you if you need me. Always. Xo," she tweeted.

"The View" host Meghan McCain also wished McHenry well on Twitter.

"Sending love and strength Brit," McCain wrote. "Please let me know if there’s anything we can do."

In December 2019, McHenry sued Fox News over alleged sexual harassment from her co-host George Murdoch.

Murdoch, known by his pro-wrestling name Tyrus, hosted the show "Un-PC" with McHenry from December 2018 to February 2019 on Fox Nation, the subscription-based spin-off of Fox News. In addition to harassment from Murdoch, McHenry claimed Fox retaliated against her when she came forward with her accusations.

"The last thing I wanted to do was filed (sic) this lawsuit," she said in a statement to USA TODAY at the time. "But I had to stand up for what's right for myself and for women."

Fox News, in a company statement, dismissed McHenry's lawsuit and said the company fully investigated her allegations and took appropriate action.

Murdoch's attorney, Tom Clare, said his client denies the allegations in the lawsuit and will pursue defamation counterclaims.

Fox News spokesperson Carly Shanahan told USA TODAY that McHenry is still a host with Fox Nation.
