Former CAA Agent Norris Brooks Pivots To Management At Echo Lake

EXCLUSIVE: Fast-rising rep Norris Brooks has pivoted from agenting to literary management, having departed CAA to join Echo Lake Entertainment, where she will continue to represent comedians, writers, directors, producers and book properties.

Brooks joined CAA in 2017, as a publishing department assistant based out of New York, and eventually made her way back to her native Los Angeles, where she became an agent in the TV Scripted and Book Rights departments.

A specialist in the comedy space with a penchant for bolstering female talent and underrepresented voices, her clients have worked on such acclaimed series as Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Archer, Physical, and The Afterparty, among others. Brooks orchestrated the sale of Daniel Ricciardo’s scripted Formula 1 series at Hulu and has sold book adaptions to various networks. Clients expected to join her at Echo Lake include writers Miles Woods (Paramount+’s Frasier revival) and Sofi Selig (Ted Lasso), How I Met Your Father scribes Jillian Dukes and Ally Thibault, director Eli Gonda (Neon), and author Coco Mellors (Cleopatra and Frankenstein).

A native of Los Angeles and a graduate of the University of Virginia, Brooks began her career in entertainment as an intern at Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video.

“I’ve known several of the managers at Echo Lake for some time now so it was only natural that as I transitioned to management I met with their team,” stated Norris. “It was instantly apparent that this is the kind of collegial, collaborative environment I was seeking, and I’m excited to begin this next chapter of my career alongside such a dedicated group.”

A management, production and finance company based in Beverly Hills, Echo Lake Entertainment has produced and financed over 40 films since 1998, which have brought them both an Oscar and a Peabody Award. The company recently produced Hulu’s Emmy-winning historical satire The Great, exec produced by and starring Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult, which wrapped up its third and final season in May. Other recent credits include All the Bright Places and Oxygen for Netflix, Van Helsing for Syfy, and The Secrets We Keep for Bleecker Street.
