In the world of reality TV love stories, not every romance ends with a happily-ever-after, and the latest saga from Bachelor Nation proves just that. The buzz around Golden Bachelor’s Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s split is louder than a rose ceremony gone wrong, with everyone from Trista Sutter, one of the still-married Bachelor contestants, and April Kirkwood, who was a fellow contestant on Golden Bacehlor, weighing in on what’s been dubbed the Golden Divorce. But it’s Tyler Cameron’s take that’s lighting up the internet faster than you can say “final rose.”

Tyler Cameron, known for his candid remarks and a heartthrob run on The Bachelorette, didn’t hold back his thoughts on the matter. On a steamy episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen aired on April 18, Cameron delivered his verdict with a dramatic flair worthy of prime time.

“Shame, shame, shame,” he declared, suggesting the duo were meant to be paragons of romance. “Because they’re supposed to be setting the standard of what we’re supposed to find. And they didn’t make it happen. Canceled.” However, he quickly added a pinch of humor to his critique, clarifying, “Though he noted he was just kidding,” but firmly stated, “You can’t look to them for love anymore.”

Cameron didn’t stop there. He lamented the impact of the divorce on the franchise’s wholesome image, saying it “put a stain on love and Bachelor Nation because it was the most wholesome. And then they just pulled the rug right out from under us.” He painted a picture of a romantic disillusionment, echoing the sentiments of countless fans who believed in the couple’s love story.

The former model also speculated on the reasons behind the split, hinting at a clash of wills between the two. “Gerry and Theresa don’t want to change their ways,” he opined. “Like it’s just two stubborn old people, you know? And when you get older you get more stubborn.”

But this isn’t Cameron’s first rodeo in stirring the Bachelor pot. Known for not shying away from franchise controversies, the Bachelorette runner-up was been the center of post-show drama himself when he was spotted leaving Hannah Brown’s Los Angeles apartment following her Bachelorette season finale. This instance is no different, as fans and detractors alike parse his words for a deeper understanding of reality TV love dynamics.

The divorce, announced three months post-nuptials, cited geographical challenges as a primary factor — Turner resides in Indiana, while Nist is New Jersey-based. Still, Cameron’s skepticism points to deeper compatibility issues, challenging the notion that distance is the sole villain in their love story.

Whether Cameron’s commentary will change the course of future Bachelor romances remains to be seen, but for now, his words serve as a reminder that not all is fair in love and war — especially in the quest for reality TV romance.
