Mississippi native Colin Stough will be performing live at the Forrest County Multi-Purpose Center on Saturday, May 4, in Hattiesburg.

Stough of Gattman finished third on Season 21 of "American Idol" in 2022 impressing judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie while also winning over a loyal fan base.

"I started learning to play the guitar at age 6 or 7 before I even knew I could sing," said Stough in an interview with the Clarion Ledger and Hattiesburg American. "I really wanted to just be a guitar player like Stevie Ray Vaughan, or Jimi Hendrix. So around age 12 or 13 I figured out I could really play and started to put the guitar down a little bit and started working on singing."

Stough said he loves playing songs that people listen to and don't know yet, which is why fans in attendance at his performance in Hattiesburg can expect to hear all new material, including new songs from his new EP that is releasing later this year.

"My set list has changed major, and we're not going to play a lot of my old songs that everyone knows," Stough said. "We put songs from my brand new EP that's coming out on this set list to perform."

Stough has continued to grow his fan base from his debut EP on 19 Recordings/BMG Nashville. In September 2023, Stough released his single “Promiseland,” along with an official music video. The hard-hitting anthem is the title track to Stough’s debut EP, which is out now and puts the emerging artist on track to reach even more dreams in the future.

"Every song on the Promiseland project is a story about my life," Stough said. "I feel like once you meet somebody, you start to kind of tell them about your life, so I felt like since that was my first legitimate project, I wanted to tell people about who I am and where I come from."

Stough said life after "American Idol" has been great and currently spends his time writing and recording original new music for fans, while also touring nationwide.
