Food poll: Vote for the best place on Cape Cod to get a bagel

What’s the difference between a gull that flies over the sea and a gull that flies over the bay?

One is a seagull and the other is a bagel.

We may be starting today’s poll with a joke many third-graders love, but that doesn’t mean we are not dead serious about finding the best bagels on the Cape and Islands.

When we asked members of the Facebook group, Good Stuff at Cape Cod Restaurants, we pulled in a half-dozen suggestions which are included in this week’s poll.

We browsed the internet and drew on in-person experience (our staff is blessed with a lot of foodies) to flesh out the poll.

To choose your favorite place from the list below, visit capecodtimes.com and click on the poll. Don’t be shy. While New Yorkers have always had a monopoly on the chewy, slightly sweet rings of dough that are boiled before baking, it doesn’t mean Cape Codders are not harboring some secrets of their own.

And we realize that some Cape eateries import their bagels from New York. We’re ok with that.
