Food, games and bottle service: What to expect at Backyard, coming soon to Desert Ridge
Backyard at Desert Ridge, a new indoor-outdoor bar and grill is opening in Desert Ridge on March 7.
Located in the space formerly occupied by Sandbar Desert Ridge, Backyard features dog-friendly patios, games and four 18x10-foot LED screens, showing up to 32 games simultaneously. The company behind the bar, Evening Entertainment Group, revamped the 8,000 square-foot space to create a patio with bar games such as pop-a-shot and corn hole along with a stage for live entertainment. In the evenings, guests can enjoy live DJ and bottle service.
"Arizona's where it all began for us, so it's exciting to bring the latest iteration of our popular Backyard concept to the Desert Ridge community," said EEG co-owner Les Corieri. “Backyard allows us to go all out and create a one-of-a-kind experience that hits all the marks — relaxed yet stylish dining in an indoor-outdoor setting that takes advantage of Arizona’s incredible weather,” said Diane Corieri, co-owner of EEG.
The Desert Ridge will be the third location of Backyard. The other two are in Dallas and Fort Worth.
What's on the menu at Backyard at Desert Ridge?
Backyard at Desert Ridge offers elevated bar food, craft cocktails and over 40 beers. Dogs get their own menu, which features pup-tails.
Executive chef Chris Kight, formerly of Sedona’s award-winning Enchantment Resort and Caesars Entertainment, created the menu at Backyard, which includes snacks like nachos and barbecue short rib flatbread, salads, burgers and homestyle meatloaf. Snacks cost $8-$16, salads are $10-$12, picnic plates (sandwiches) are listed for $12-$14.
Cocktails range between $9 and $13 and include a variety of mules, an espresso martini and signature cocktails like Bad to the Bone, made with Casamigos reposado, agave nectar and aromatic bitters.
How to visit Backyard at Desert Ridge
Backyard will host a grand opening on Sunday, March 7. After that, hours will be 11 a.m. to midnight Monday to Wednesday; 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday with Happy Hour 3-6 p.m. Monday to Friday and Brunch from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
