Foo Fighters Postpone Three Tour Dates Due to Family Emergency
UPDATED: The Foo Fighters have canceled three shows due to an unspecified family emergency. Variety has reached out for further details.
The band announced it had canceled its Saturday night stop in Lexington, Ky. midday on Saturday, and on Sunday announced the cancellation of two further shows, the Oct. 23 show in Nashville, Tenn. and Oct. 24 stop in Memphis, Tenn.
“The band sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience and looks forward to returning to rock Lexington in May,” the original announcement read.
The announcement also detailed that the Kentucky show, set for Rupp Arena, would be rescheduled to May 1, where all tickets purchased for tonight’s event will be honored, and the Fed Ex Forum night in Memphis would be rescheduled to May 3. Anyone unable to attend the May 1 rescheduling can obtain refunds at the point of purchase.
The Nashville stop has not yet been rescheduled.
The shows marked the eighth, ninth, and tenth dates of the Foo Fighters’ 2017 tour in support of their new album “Concrete and Gold,” which was kicked off with their performance at resurrected SoCal fest CalJam. The group is set to play 17 more North American dates through December.
After a break for the holidays, the group will return to play Australia, New Zealand and South America during the first few months of 2018.
Foo Fighters released a new song earlier this week titled “Soldier,” which will appear on a Planned Parenthood benefit compilation, including tracks from other artists like Sleater-Kinney, Bjork, and Bon Iver.
