Bridgeport’s Sound on Sound Music Festival will now be known as the Soundside Music Festival, and the 2024 edition will be headlined by Foo Fighters, Noah Kahah and other major rock, pop, R&B/soul, blues, country and indie acts for the weekend-long event in September.

The event will take place on Sept. 28 and 29 at Bridgeport’s Seaside Park.

Noah Kahan headlines the first day of the festival. Also on the schedule that day: Goo Goo Dolls, Fleet Foxes, Boyz II Men, Grace Potter, the San Diego-based R&B/soul act Thee Sacred Souls, blues guitarist Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Lisa Loeb and her band Nine Stories, Connecticut-rooted singer/songwriter Madi Diaz and Boston-based singer/guitarist Rijah.

Foo Fighters close the festival on Sunday. Also on the bill that day are Queens of the Stone Age, jazz/pop star Norah Jones, eclectic Atlanta singer/songwriter Teddy Swims, Colorada-based South African-born performer Gregory Alan Isakov, rock duo The Kills, Tennessee alt-country act Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, married country duo The War & Treaty, New York City folk/pop band Hurray For The Riff Raff and Irish singer/songwriter Darren Kiely.

Besides the bands, the festival promises “gourmet food options from some of Connecticut and surrounding area’s best establishments, including PopUp Bagels, The Gotham Burger Social Club, Grumpy Dumpling Co., 29 Markle Ct, The Blind Rhino, Walter’s Hot Dogs, a curated selection of cocktails, craft beer and wine options and much more,” according to a press release.

The first two Sound on Sound Festivals each drew tens of thousands of concertgoers to Seaside Park. The park became established as a location for major outdoor music festivals when it hosted the Grateful Dead-friendly Gathering of the Vibes music festival from 2007-2015.

While the two Sound by Sound festivals were produced by Founders Entertainment, the renamed Soundside Festival is being run by C3 Entertainment, a company owned by the concert promotion behemoth Live Nation.

“This is another example of how Bridgeport is ‘on the move’ as we strengthen our legacy of being the music and entertainment capital of Connecticut,” Bridgeport mayor Joe Ganim said in a statement on Tuesday.

A presale ticket deal is available from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday. Ticket prices will increase at noon with general public sales. As in previous years, there are four tiers of tickets: General admission, General Admission Plus, VIP and Skydeck. There is also a one-day or two-day option on all the tickets. Layaway plans are available. Bridgeport residents in certain area codes near the park are eligible for a 15% discount on tickets. Prices have not been posted yet.
