You only turn 120 once — and Harley-Davidson is going really big for the celebration.

The Milwaukee-based motorcycle is hosting a Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival, taking place July 13 to 16 at multiple venues across the city.

But the epicenter of the party will be Veterans Park, which will host two of the planet's biggest rock bands.

Green Day will play the park July 14, with Foo Fighters headlining July 15.

Both bands made the Journal Sentinel's best concerts of 2021 at their last Milwaukee shows, with Foo Fighters topping the list. This will be the first local appearance from Dave Grohl's band since the death of longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins last year.

Opening for Green Day July 14 are Social Distortion, Phantogram and Wisconsin-raised rocker KennyHoopla. On Saturday, Cody Jinks, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and White Reaper will open for Foo Fighters.

“We are very excited to announce the Foo Fighters and Green Day as headliners at our Veterans Park festival location,” Jochen Zeitz, chairman, president and CEO of Harley-Davidson, said in a statement. “We can’t wait to host riders from all over the world in Milwaukee, as we come together as one Harley-Davidson family and welcome everyone to join us. With music at the heart of our festival, I can’t think of two more iconic American rock icons to join our community in celebrating 120 years of Harley-Davidson."

How to get tickets for Harley Fest Green Day and Foo Fighters at Veterans Park

Tickets for the Veterans Park concerts are on sale now for the festival at h-d.com/homecomingtickets. Single-day general-admission tickets are $99, or $180 for two-day general-admission tickets.

VIP tickets are sold out.

Veterans Park will also be the site of family-oriented festivities during the day July 15 and 16 that will include live music and other entertainment. The Harley-Davidson Museum campus will host free events, including live music and skills demonstrations, while the Harley-Davidson Powertrain Operations in Menomonee Falls will offer guided tours, demo rides and product displays.

Where are other Harley Homecoming Festival events being held in 2023?

Other events will take place at six area Harley-Davidson dealerships: House of Harley-Davidson (Greenfield), Milwaukee Harley-Davidson (Milwaukee), Suburban Motors Harley-Davidson (Thiensville), Uke’s Harley-Davidson (Kenosha), West Bend Harley-Davidson (West Bend) and Wisconsin Harley-Davidson (Oconomowoc).

Staging a celebration in Milwaukee every five years, Harley's 120th anniversary Homecoming Festival marks a return to A-list band bookings for the first time in a decade, when a music festival at Maier Festival Park included performances from Aerosmith, Kid Rock, Toby Keith and more (including a surprise Dave Grohl appearance with Hawkins' band Chevy Metal).

The last time there was a major Harley festival in Veterans Park was in 2008 for their 105th anniversary, which also featured Foo Fighters, and also Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
