FOND DU LAC - Carnival rides and games, animal judging, live music and more can be found at this year’s Fond du Lac County Fair. It’s set to take place July 19 to 23 at the county fairgrounds, 520 Fond du Lac Ave.

Get a “sneak peek” on July 18 with a special bull-riding and barrel-racing grandstand event, followed by fireworks. Food vendors also will be open. Gates open at 5 p.m. with the show at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are required for this grandstand event: $15 for adults, $5 for children 3-12, or $30 for VIP tickets.

There is no admission fee to enter the fairgrounds, but parking will cost $10. Grounds open daily at 9 a.m.

Here’s what else to expect when you visit the fair.

The animals

Animal judging will take place in the Cow Palace, the Horse Arena and the Poultry Barn. Everything from beef to swine, rabbits to horses, poultry to dogs and more will be judged and awarded prizes.

Grandstand entertainment

A truck and tractor pull will be the grandstand entertainment July 19. Tickets are $12, $5 for children 3-12.

Music headliners are Skillet July 20, Tesla July 21 and Randy Houser July 22. General admission is $35 with a limited number of VIP tickets available for $100.

A demolition derby will round out the fair July 23. Tickets are $15, $5 for children 3-12 with VIP tickets at $30.

Carnival rides

Carnival rides open at 1 p.m. July 19 and 20 and noon July 21, 22 and 23.

Dollar day: From 1 to 5 p.m. July 19, rides are $1 (except Freak Out at $2).

Unlimited rides are $25 and available 5-10 p.m. July 19; 1-6 p.m. or 6-11 p.m. July 20; and noon-5 p.m. July 21, 22 and 23.

Other attractions

Local acts to perform throughout the week include Nashville Pipeline, Hannah Rose, Brent Bel, Star Six Nine and more.

Entertainment for the kids includes a barnyard show, a lumberjack show and many other activities.

Educational opportunities will be offered, as well as a 5K run/walk and a baby crawling contest.
