Floyd Mayweather Headed To Trial With Baby Mama Josie Harris

Floyd Mayweather is set to battle his baby mama in court, in her case accusing him of lying about domestic violence.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, a Los Angeles judge has set a trial date for December 7, 2020.

Mayweather and his ex-Josie Harris will face off together in court. The legal battle has been dragging on for years.

Back in 2015, Josie Harris filed the $20 million-dollar lawsuit against Mayweather accusing him of defaming her during an interview with Katie Couric, where he spoke about his domestic violence case.

Harris accuses him lying about her being high on drugs during an alleged 2010 domestic violence incident. She denied Mayweather had to restrain her and accused him of assaulting her. She claimed Mayweather knew his statements were not true.

The incident in question happened when the fighter allegedly broke into her home and attacked her. Floyd spent two months in jail after being convicted of domestic violence.

Mayweather argued records would prove his claim Harris was on drugs, allegedly including Xanax, Wellbutrin, and marijuana.

The case stalled for years after Mayweather filed an appeal. A California appeals court shut down Mayweather and sided with Harris. They ordered her defamation case could move forward despite the fighter’s objections.

The order noted that there was a ton of evidence presented of the DV case. They wrote, “Since this evidence is unequivocally at odds with the assertion that Mayweather was simply restraining a drug-addled Harris by only twisting her arm, it may reasonably be inferred that Mayweather acted with malice or reckless disregard of the truth during the Couric interview."

Following the appeal outcome, the lawsuit was reignited. Mayweather has since accused Harris of refusing to turn over medical records in the case.

Mayweather is also battling his ex-girlfriend, Shantel Jackson, in a separate case.
