A Florida grandmother has been arrested in connection with the August 2022 death of an 11-month-old child, according to local police.

Tibina Louissant was arrested by the Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit on Friday, according to a warrant statement reviewed by PEOPLE.

The warrant claims that Louissant was taking care of her grandson Josiah Fenelus on the weekend of the incident. Officers responded to a home in Oakland Park, Fla., on the morning of Aug. 21, 2022 regarding an infant who had became "unresponsive.” Josiah was pronounced dead upon arriving at the hospital.

Police launched an investigation, and in October 2022, the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the child had a “a lethal concentration of the powerful antihistamine cyproheptadine” in his system, the statement says. The Food and Drug Administration states cyproheptadine, which can be legally administered only with a doctor’s prescription, is an antihistamine that can also be used for appetite control and to “enhance” appearances.

Toxicology tests from earlier this year revealed baby bottles found in Louissant’s home tested positive for cyproheptadine. Following a final autopsy in August, the manner of Josiah's death was determined to be homicide, and the cause is said to be "cyproheptadine toxicity."

Louissant, who told detectives she was the only person taking care of Josiah, is facing a charge for aggravated manslaughter of a child and was released on bond on Saturday, the report says.

Broward County Court Records show the bond amount was $50,000 and did not show any name for an attorney as of Monday afternoon.
