Florida State is bowl eligible after all. Or at least it says so.

A day after Reddit sleuths dug deep to find a fine-print rule challenging the Seminoles’ bowl eligibility, Florida State has finally responded.

And, according to the folks in Tallahassee, they have been assured that they are indeed fully eligible to play in Wednesday’s Independence Bowl against Southern Miss.

Regardless of what the correct ruling is regarding FSU’s bowl eligibility — the NCAA has remained conspicuously quiet on this one — there’s a zero percent chance, barring a disaster, that the Independence Bowl doesn’t go on as planned. The wheels are in motion and the money’s been paid.

It’s a bizarre cap to a very strange season in Tallahassee.
