Florence Pugh hit in the face by an object thrown during a “Dune: Part Two” panel

The actress was joined onstage by costars Timothée Chalamet, Austin Butler, and Zendaya.

First they came for the musicians, and now the actors.

Florence Pugh has become the latest victim of an increasingly disturbing trend where fans hurl objects at performer’s onstage. The actress was attending a Dune: Part Two Panel at a Comic-Con event in São Paulo, Brazil on Sunday when the incident occurred.

Joined by costars Timothée Chalamet, Austin Butler, and Zendaya to discuss the sci-fi sequel, Pugh was posing for photos when an object flew at the stage and struck her directly in the face.

In videos shared across social media, Pugh and her costars react in shock as the actress recoils, puts a hand to the eye that was hit, and then reaches for the object on the ground.

This came moments after Pugh spoke about her excitement for the panel as part of the Dune cast. “I had an amazing time coming in and just hanging around with these people, let alone actually getting to work with them,” she said. “Coming in here — the power in this room — is because of that first movie, and we felt that when we went on set every single day. So it feels really, really special being here with the second one.”

Pugh is unfortunately far from the first star to flinch away from random objects. Just last week, R&B singer Ari Lennox confronted a concertgoer when nearly struck by a bottle thrown at her onstage.

“Who the f--- did it? I don't play that s—,” Lennox told the crowd. “I'm a real-ass bitch, and I will f--- your s--- all the way the f--- up.”

She added, "Don't you ever disrespect a beautiful Black woman on the f---ing stage like that.”

The rowdy behavior has been largely contained to concerts, but with Pugh, the trend is branching out. This has already resulted in various injuries, including Bebe Rexha who needed stitches in June, after being hit in the face by a thrown phone. The culprit was eventually arrested and charged with assault.

Kelsea Ballerini, Harry Styles, and even Taylor Swift have fended off similar attacks, with the “Cruel Summer” singer pausing an Eras Tour performance in Buenos Aires to tell fans, "It really freaks me out when stuff gets thrown on the stage. Because if it's on the stage then a dancer can trip on it. I love that you brought presents and that is so nice, but just can you please not throw them on the stage. I love you so much."
