Floating Fish Shop Breaks Away From Pier, Drifts Into Bay In St Helens, Tasmania

Skippers Fish Shop, a floating eatery located on the seafront at St Helens, Tasmania, broke free from its mooring on November 21, careering towards a small boat in the bay.

This footage of the incident was captured by Casey Wylie, who watched as the fish and chip shop slowly drifted out to sea.

Anita, from Skippers, told Storyful that “a freak gust of wind” swept through the area and caused the vessel to break away. The damage was only minor, she added.

“Thankfully no one was hurt and ‘Sylvia’ is back on the docks … we have decided that she is not suitable for doing deliveries.” Credit: Casey Wylie via Storyful
