The Flash promotes Mystery Girl Jessica Parker Kennedy to series regular for season 5

The Flash‘s former Mystery Girl isn’t rushing back to the future any time soon!

EW has learned that Jessica Parker Kennedy, who plays Barry and Iris’ daughter from the future Nora West-Allen, has been promoted to series regular for the superhero drama’s fifth season.

Kennedy made her debut as Mystery Girl in the Supergirl segment of this season’s crossover “Crisis of Earth-X” and continued to pop up throughout the season, most notably showing off her super speed in “Therefore She Is” Even though many fans guessed her really early on, the show didn’t confirm it until the season 4 finale, which saw Nora help the Flash save Central City. When she finally revealed herself to her parents and the rest of Team Flash in the “We Are The Flash,” she told them that she made a very big mistake. The exact nature of that mistake remains to be seen but it probably involves time travel, because like father like daughter.

Kennedy isn’t the only cast member to be promoted ahead of the new season. Last week, the CW announced that Hartley Sawyer, who recurred as Ralph Dibny, a.k.a. Elongated Man in season 4, would also be a series regular in season 5.

The 33-year-old actress’ previous credits include The Secret Circle, Colony, and Black Sails.

The Flash returns this fall on The CW.
