Man of Steel and The Flash star Michael Shannon has commented on co-star Ezra Miller and the recent controversies that they have had.

What did Michael Shannon say about Ezra Miller?

While speaking with Vanity Fair, Shannon, who is reprising his role of the villainous Zod in The Flash, revealed his thoughts on Miller’s controversies last year. The actor conveyed sympathy and discussed the nature of dealing with issues while in the movie business.

“If you’re talking about Ezra [Miller], I thought Ezra was lovely — very kind to me when I was there,” Shannon stated. “It’s difficult to talk about, but I always give people a lot of slack in this business, because there’s a lot of people in this business that have issues. And some people have more privacy than others … Any time somebody is out in the spotlight getting picked on, I feel for them. Even if it’s warranted, it’s still a horrible situation.”

The Flash is the next movie in the DC Universe and is set to release in theaters on June 16. The movie stars Ezra Miller, Michael Shannon, Michael Keaton, Sasha Calle, Ben Affleck, Kiersey Clemons, Maribel Verdú, and Ron Livingston. It was directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Christina Hodson.

“Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to,” reads the synopsis.
