Five things we love this weekend: Oct. 25

Oct. 27—Haunted trail and monster bash

To celebrate the Halloweekend, Kokomo Parks & Recreation has planned a community Halloween party. Visitors will be able to get their faces painted, grab some candy, go on a wagon ride and participate in costume and pumpkin contests. The party will be held in Jackson Morrow Park, 4200 S. Park Road. The party is scheduled to run 3-5 p.m. Saturday and will be followed by a haunted trail walk at 6 p.m.

A 70s show

The Kokomo Symphonic Society will hold its annual TV Dinner Singalong fundraiser on Saturday. The show has a 1970s theme this year and dressing up for the occasion is encouraged. The event includes dinner, music, trivia, a name that tune game and a silent auction. The fundraiser will be held at The Experience in the Kokomo Country Club. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event will kick off with a performance from the Symphony's string quartet. Tickets cost $60, but a table for 10 people can be purchased for $500. You can purchase tickets online at kokomosymphony.net or by calling 765-236-0251.

Rockers for Knockers

Local musicians are raising money for breast cancer screenings. Spearheaded by Mike Milligan & Steam Shovel, which is a blues band, the 16th annual Rockers for Knockers will be held at Phi Delta Kappa, 2401 Saratoga Ave., on Saturday. There are five bands scheduled to perform and visitors will be able to purchase food and drinks at the venue. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the $20 cover charge can be paid with cash or card. The concert is open to all ages.

Autumn Cat-ch

The Kokomo Humane Society will host its annual Autumn Cat-ch fundraiser on Saturday. The event will feature a shrimp boil dinner, a dessert auction and a small live auction. Vegetarian options will be available. The fundraiser will be held in Indiana University Kokomo's Alumni Hall, which is in the Kelley Student Center, 2450 S. Washington St. The event is scheduled to run 6-9 p.m. Tickets cost $70 and can be purchased online at kokomohumane.org/events/2023-autumn-catch/.

Werewolf games

There's going to be a full moon on Saturday. Kingdom Cards & Games, 126 W. Walnut St., will host several rounds of Werewolf to celebrate the Hunter's Moon. The rules to the game are fairly simple. Secret roles are assigned before each game. If you're a villager, try to eliminate the werewolves. If you're a werewolf, get rid of the pesky villagers. The games begin at 7 p.m. Saturday and there isn't a set end time.
