All Five Seasons of Moonlighting Come to Streaming for First Time Ever

The post All Five Seasons of Moonlighting Come to Streaming for First Time Ever appeared first on Consequence.

Come next month, all five seasons of Moonlighting will be available to stream for the first time ever when it lands on Hulu beginning October 10th.

The streamer has announced all 67 episodes of the comedy, which stars Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis, have been remastered in HD from the original film source and will feature the Grammy-nominated theme song by Al Jarreau.

Airing on ABC from 1985 to 1989, Moonlighting centered around Shepherd’s Maddie Hayes, a former fashion model who goes broke after her accountant embezzles all of her liquid assets. She’s left saddled with the failing City of Angels Detective Agency, which is run by David Addison Jr. (Willis). After being convinced by Addison to keep the business and run it together, they give the agency a new name: Blue Moon Detective Agency.

Moonlighting was credited with making Willis a star and helping Shepherd bounce back from a string of box office flops. Shepherd earned two Golden Globes for her performance, while Willis picked up one of his own, as well as an Emmy.

Created by Glenn Gordon Caron, the show also featured Allyce Beasley as receptionist Agnes DiPesto and Curtis Armstrong as Herbert Viola, who comes to the agency as a temp before eventually being promoted. In October 2022, Caron teased some sort of return for Moonlighting on Twitter, writing, “Disney and I have put our heads together and come up with a plan.” Now, that plan has come to fruition.
