Five Puppies Die From Cold After Being Left Outside Animal Shelter

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office on February 16 released footage showing a woman leaving nine puppies at an animal shelter in Frankfort, Kentucky, five of which perished from the cold before they were found.

Police said the puppies were left on the porch of Life House for Animals in Frankfort on the night of February 13.

“The basket had a blanket inside but no other protection from the elements,” the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said. “The puppies were left on the doorstep until approximately 0730 hours the following day. Although the person may have had good intentions, five of the puppies succumbed to the cold and died.”
