Get a head start on your entertainment planning and pencil in these fun events on your 2024 calendars. Here are five worth checking out this year.
Harlem Globetrotters
The high-flying, high-scoring entertainment that is the Harlem Globetrotters will take to a basketball court near you in 2024.

Bank of Springfield Center hosts the storied Globetrotters facing off against their longtime nemesis — the Washington Generals. Tipoff is 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10.

John Mellencamp
Famed singer and songwriter John Mellencamp is coming to Springfield for one night only.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will take to the stage at Sangamon Auditorium on the University of Illinois Springfield campus at 8 p.m. on March 23.
Mellencamp's stop in the Capital City is part of his 27-city "Live and In Person 2024" tour that follows his "Live and In Person 2023." He performed previously in the city in 2016 and 2017.

WWE Wrestlemania
If rock isn't your jazz, there's always WWE Wrestlemania.
The BOS Center will have the action also on March 23, featuring an all-star ensemble of "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth "Freakin" Rollins, Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley, and more. The smackdowns start at 7:30 p.m.

Illinois State Fair
Nothing quite says summertime in Springfield like the Illinois State Fair.
Held for over a century, this year's fair begins on Aug. 8 with County Fair and Horse Racing Day. Throughout the 11-day fair, there will be an Agriculture Day, Kids Day, and a return of the "Twosday" special. Details regarding music performances and other events have yet to be announced.

The 2023 state fair broke attendance records with more than 700,000 attendees.

Brad Williams
Comedian Brad Williams is coming to the University of Illinois Springfield Performing Arts Center for a 7 p.m., Aug. 24 show.
The stop is part of a nationwide tour, performing in Peoria and Rockford in March. Williams has made appearances on The Tonight Show, Dave Attell’s Comedy Underground, and Jimmy Kimmel Live.
