First U.S. Hello Kitty Cafe location to open in California

Cue Phantom Planet’s “California“: The purveyor of all things cute will opening a café in home of Marissa Cooper this summer 2015.

According to the LAist, a Hello Kitty Café will be opening in Orange County, the first in the continental United States. The café will be selling a host of trendy Hello Kitty-themed treats, such as donuts, macarons, and cake pops, which were featured at the Hello Kitty mobile food truck this past weekend at the Hello Kitty Con in Los Angeles.

According to an interview between the LAist and Hello Kitty Café managing partner Allan Tea, the cafe will also sell café-style food, including artisan pastries, salads, sandwiches, and coffee beverages such as espresso. For those who cannot wait to eat a macaron plastered with Hello Kitty cuteness, LAist also reports that the Hello Kitty Cafe mobile food truck will be available for private parties, which probably means a bunch of Hello Kitty-themed weddings are on the horizon.

Sanrio did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment.
